The purpose of this glossary is to serve as a cultural dictionary for all essential Farfaist/Shokrafian terms.
Stage
The original Shokrafian stone is Mamkash, which generally means “a hollow structure, atop of which one can address an audience”. Throughout the book it appears in the temporal form, meaning “stone stages”.
Stages in ancient prophet societies
The holes allow the prophets to see and feel Farfa, when all holes are blocked there is only a stage and no means for the prophets to feel the lord. The common interpretation is that the stages represent the act of performing, of requiring attention, while the holes represent the receptiveness required for said attention.
Yanur
One of the 5 noble creatures of the land. Yanurs are the ambassadors of Farfa upon the land. Even though they are not capable of speech, they can communicate the words of Farfa. To us they would look like a combination of a horse and an emu. Eating their meat is forbidden, but their milk and eggs are considered delicious.
